My Story

I have an innate interest in human behaviour and interpersonal human relationships. This interest has led me in all sorts of directions within my working life to date with experience spanning across academia, the private sector, government, body-work and body-oriented therapies, professional mentoring and now psychotherapy. I came to the Hakomi training after my own personal and life-changing experiences of being a Hakomi client. I am also currently a committee member of the Adelaide Trauma Collective, a not-for-profit that promotes and supports access to integrated, body inclusive and relational trauma therapy in South Australia.

My areas of therapeutic interest include working with adults who feel stuck and uncertain about the current direction of their lives, relationships, and/or connection to self; attachment related issues; anxiety; chronic stress; and burn out. I am particularly interested in the body’s incredible ability to hold, store and help us process information, feelings and trauma. What I love about the Hakomi method is that we get to approach these things from your own sense of self-knowing and curiosity about what is important to you – and what you need – as it unfolds in real time, in each session.

I highly value building safety and trust with clients and do so with deliberate gentleness, pacing and transparent / open communication. It is my experience and belief that the container (i.e. the relationship, space and clear boundaries) provided by a therapist with a client can be the first of many steps towards true inner healing.
